Update: I actually did like this. I probably won't ever feel compelled to watch it again, but I do love Diane Keaton--it was fun to see her play a role where she wasn't an upper-middle class mother : )

When it rains, it pours!

All of my close friends (with the exception of Jen & Katie) are spread across the world, so it's always exciting when one of them is going to be in Reno! I am really excited this week because Andy is in town for work, and Kimbra is going to be in town for some in-laws stuff!

Tonight, Andy and I finally had dinner at El Adobe which we have been trying to do for ages and somehow, we could never find it. I had already been there twice without knowing what it was called...It's supposed to be the best Mexican food in Reno (but I think I still like Miguel's better). After dinner, we headed over to the Grand Sierra to check out Reserve which is a fun self-service wine bar. Interesting set-up--we had a lot of fun!

Rough Morning

My sister woke me up at 4:30am because she "forgot" her car at her friend's house last night and needed a ride to go pick it up. She wasn't drinking or anything--she really just left her car at her friend's house. Then, there was a huge accident on my way to work this morning (really sad as I just read on the news that there are three people still trapped in one of the cars including a baby) which kept me sitting in stop-and-go traffic for half an hour. Well, at least I know that the day will get better. I just need to relax (and increase my caffeine intake).

regarding pets

Because I have invested some money in my fish tank, I have decided to get one more fish. I think that it will do okay over the summer because it won't get so cold at night. If/when he dies, I will then get rid of the tank because honestly, I cannot bear to kill any more poor little fishies.

Summer Workout Plans

I'm so excited that they finally released the drop-in class schedule at the gym for this summer! They're offering a Pilates reformer class and yoga in the evenings. I'm super excited about the reformer class because that will really work my core, and I can say good-bye to independent ab exercises for the summer!

Jen came over to my place this morning for brunch. We had coffee and waffles with strawberries and whipped cream. So yummy! It was so good to catch up with my friend--it feels like forever since we last talked, and so much has happened! : )

happy/sad night out

I met up with my friend Debbie and her husband Patric at Jungle Vino tonight for some celebratory drinks! Debbie took her very last undergrad final today! Debbie and I took loads of classes together during our time at UNR. I'm not sure that I would have survived classes like MGT 321 without her. I'm so proud of her--and so jealous!

On a sadder note, I then met Andy and Tanner for dinner. Andy is moving to Vegas tomorrow. I'm sad for me, but happy for him--I can definitely relate to the need to move and do something new with life.

...at the end of each semester I do a Sex and the City marathon while I finish up all of my homework and study for finals. I have a love/hate relationship with Season Six, Part Two. The fashion in these episodes is outstanding and inspirational, and yet I cannot stand the Russian. Does he bother anyone else? I never understand what Carrie sees in him. He is cagey, moody, and just a little too much (not that I wouldn't appreciate an Oscar gown as a gift). And he is so arrogant and presumptuous--like when he tells everyone that Carrie is moving to Paris with him at their dinner party. However, I love the development of all of the relationships in the movie, and I love that she ends up with Big in the end. Anyway...onto the movie, and back to my paper : )

I'm really feeling the need to get creative lately. As soon as school is out, I'm going to go hang out in Michael's for awhile and see what I find.

I might also play around with altering some of my old clothes...however my (extremely) limited sewing skills may force me to take a trip to the seamstress's shop : )

I'm also feeling a strong urge to organize and throw stuff out. And take yoga/pilates/ballet. Maybe I'm having balance issues...?
